Adobe Photoshop is solidifying its position as the leading image editing software with the latest enhancements to its AI-powered tools, integrating Adobe Firefly to offer creative professionals unprecedented control and efficiency. The recent updates focus on delivering higher quality results, more realistic edits, and streamlined workflows, all while maintaining precision.
A key highlight of this release is the improvement of Firefly-powered features, specifically Generative Fill, Generative Expand, and the Remove Tool. These tools now support outputs up to 2K resolution, producing noticeably sharper results with fewer artifacts. Adobe has also refined the underlying algorithms to provide better lighting and depth consistency, more accurate prompt interpretation, and cleaner edges with more realistic textures. In addition to the Firefly enhancements, Photoshop is introducing new adjustment layers: Clarity, Dehaze, and Grain. These are implemented as non-destructive, maskable layers, providing users with more control over fine-tuning images while preserving original layer data. The Clarity adjustment enhances texture and contrast, Dehaze fine-tunes atmospheric effects and lighting, and Grain adds depth and character. As true adjustment layers, they can be blended, masked, and refined at any point in the workflow.
Another notable addition is Dynamic Text, now available in beta. This feature simplifies the process of transforming text layers into curved, arched, or circular shapes. Instead of manually warping text and tweaking spacing, users can select a text layer, choose a shape style, and let Photoshop handle resizing and alignment automatically.
