The Google Pixel Watch 4 and the budget-friendly Pixel Buds 2a have officially been launched in India, adding to Google's expanding ecosystem of AI-integrated devices. Unveiled alongside the Pixel 10 series, these accessories promise a blend of innovative features and user-friendly design.
Google Pixel Watch 4: A Comprehensive Overview
The Pixel Watch 4 boasts several upgrades over its predecessors, focusing on design, performance, and health-tracking capabilities.
Design and Display: The smartwatch features a redesigned domed Actua 360 display, which is physically curved to provide a 10% larger active area and 16% smaller bezels. The display's brightness has been boosted by 50% to reach 3,000 nits peak brightness, ensuring optimal visibility even in direct sunlight. The watch maintains its iconic circular shape and uses durable Corning Gorilla Glass and an aerospace-grade aluminum housing. The watch is also water-resistant up to 50 meters.
Performance and Battery: Under the hood, the Pixel Watch 4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Wearable Platform and a next-gen ML-powered co-processor, which Google claims is 25% faster while using half the power. This dual-chip architecture contributes to both premium performance and extended battery life. Google claims the 41mm Pixel Watch 4 can last up to 30 hours with the always-on display (AOD) and up to 40 hours in Battery Saver mode. The larger 45mm version extends these numbers to 40 hours and 72 hours, respectively. Charging is also 25% faster, reaching 50% battery in just 15 minutes.
Software and AI Integration: The Pixel Watch 4 operates on Wear OS 6 and integrates Google's Gemini AI. Gemini can be activated with a simple raise of the wrist, enabling voice assistance and AI-powered smart replies. The watch also includes an AI-powered Activity Recognition System that can automatically track activities in the background.
Health and Fitness: The Pixel Watch 4 delivers comprehensive health and fitness tracking, including more accurate sleep tracking. Enhanced skin temperature sensing can detect changes in wellbeing, while a multi-path heart rate sensor and dual-frequency GPS provide precise workout tracking. Additional features include stress management, Cardio and Target Load, ECG assessment, and a Health Metrics Dashboard. The watch supports over 40 exercise modes and includes a personal AI health coach built with Gemini for proactive fitness and sleep coaching. Emergency satellite communication is also a key addition, enabling connectivity with emergency services even without a phone signal.
Pricing and Availability: In India, the Pixel Watch 4 (Wi-Fi only) is priced at Rs 39,900 for the 41mm variant and Rs 43,900 for the 45mm variant. The 41mm model is available in Iris, Lemongrass, Porcelain, and Obsidian colors, while the 45mm version comes in Moonstone, Porcelain, and Obsidian. Pixel Buds 2a: Affordable Audio with Premium Features
The Pixel Buds 2a are designed to offer premium features at a more accessible price point, succeeding the Pixel Buds A-series.
Key Features: The Pixel Buds 2a feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a first for the A-series, powered by the Google Tensor A1 chip. They also include Silent Seal 1.5 for improved noise isolation and in-ear pressure relief. The buds have 11mm dynamic drivers for clear and balanced audio.
Battery Life and Charging: The Pixel Buds 2a provide up to 7 hours of listening time with ANC enabled and up to 10 hours without. The charging case extends the total listening time to 20 hours with ANC and 27 hours without. A quick 5-minute charge in the case provides up to 1 hour of listening time with ANC. The case charges via USB-C but does not support wireless charging.
Design and Comfort: The Pixel Buds 2a are smaller and lighter than their predecessors, featuring a twist-to-adjust stabilizer for a secure fit. They have an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, while the case has an IPX4 rating. The charging case now features a replaceable battery.
Connectivity and Additional Features: The Pixel Buds 2a support Bluetooth 5.4, multipoint connectivity, Fast Pair, and Google's Find Hub for locating misplaced earbuds. They also offer hands-free access to Gemini, real-time translation, and Bluetooth Super Wideband for clearer voice calls. The earbuds have capacitive touch controls for audio, calls, and ANC/Transparency mode switching.
Pricing and Availability: The Pixel Buds 2a are priced at Rs 12,999 in India and are available in Hazel and Iris colors. They can be purchased through Flipkart and other partner retail stores. Preorders are live, with shipping and in-store availability beginning October 9, 2025.
