Samsung has launched the Odyssey OLED G6, claiming it to be the world's first 500Hz OLED gaming monitor. This 27-inch monitor aims to redefine gaming visuals and speed with its cutting-edge technology.
The Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF model) boasts a 500Hz refresh rate and an ultra-fast 0.03ms GTG (Gray-to-Gray) response time. Paired with a QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and QD-OLED technology, the monitor delivers fluid, sharp, and responsive visuals, even during the most intense gaming sessions. The monitor is also certified with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500, ensuring vivid colors and deep blacks.
Designed for gamers who demand peak performance, the Odyssey OLED G6 incorporates several features to enhance the gaming experience. It has a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and Samsung's Glare Free technology to minimize screen reflections. The monitor is also Pantone Validated, ensuring accurate color reproduction with over 2,100 colors and more than 110 SkinTone shades from Pantone's library.
To maintain visual quality over time and combat potential burn-in, the Odyssey OLED G6 is equipped with OLED Safeguard+ technology. This includes a dynamic cooling system that uses an evaporative coolant to dissipate heat more effectively than traditional methods, and a detection system that automatically reduces the brightness of static images. The dynamic thermal control system adjusts screen brightness based on internal temperature.
The monitor supports both NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, which minimizes screen tearing and stuttering. The stand offers ergonomic flexibility with height, tilt, and swivel adjustments and VESA wall mount compatibility. Connectivity options include DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, a headphone jack, one USB-B upstream port, and two USB Type-A downstream ports with USB 3.2 support. The monitor also features Core Lighting+ at the back, which syncs with on-screen content.
Samsung's Odyssey OLED G6 is initially rolling out in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. The monitor is listed on Samsung Singapore's website for around 1,500 Singapore dollars, or about $1,150. The monitor is priced at approximately Rs 97,900. Shipments are expected to begin around May 18. While initial availability is limited to select Southeast Asian markets, a phased rollout to additional global markets is planned later in the year.
