The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is generating considerable buzz as the newest addition to Samsung's flagship Galaxy S series. Positioned as an ultra-slim, high-performance device, the S25 Edge aims to capture the attention of users who prioritize both power and portability. Samsung has officially announced that the Galaxy S25 Edge will be unveiled on May 12th in the US and May 13th globally.

Design and Display

The defining characteristic of the Galaxy S25 Edge is its remarkably slim profile. With a rumored thickness of just 5.8mm and a weight of 163 grams, it is expected to be one of the thinnest and lightest premium smartphones available. To achieve this slimness without sacrificing durability, the phone is rumored to feature a titanium alloy frame, Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the rear.

The device is expected to sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels. The display is also expected to have HDR10+ support and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits.

Camera

The Galaxy S25 Edge is confirmed to feature a dual-camera setup on the rear. The primary camera is a 200MP sensor, likely the same one found on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This is complemented by a 12MP ultrawide lens. A 12MP front-facing camera is expected for selfies. It's worth noting that the S25 Edge does not have a dedicated telephoto lens.

Performance and Battery

The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM. It is expected to offer storage options of 256GB and 512GB. The phone is likely to run on Android 15 with Samsung's One UI 7. Despite its slim design, the Galaxy S25 Edge is rumored to house a 3,900mAh battery. It is expected to support 25W wired charging and Qi2 wireless charging.

Other Features

The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to come with the standard connectivity options, including 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, and Wi-Fi 7. It will also feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display. The device will also have Galaxy AI features.

Pricing and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is scheduled for a global launch on May 13, 2025. The launch will be a virtual Unpacked event streamed on YouTube and Samsung's website. The phone is initially expected to be available in South Korea and China, followed by a wider release. The price of the 256GB variant is expected to be around EUR 1,249 (approximately Rs. 1,19,000), while the 512GB model may cost EUR 1,369 (around Rs. 1,30,000). This positions the S25 Edge between the Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra in terms of pricing. It is rumored to come in three colors: Titanium Icyblue, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Jetblack.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge aims to deliver a premium smartphone experience in a strikingly slim and lightweight package. With its powerful processor, advanced camera system, and AI capabilities, the S25 Edge is positioned to be a strong contender in the flagship smartphone market.
