Wipro Limited, a global technology services and consulting company, has launched its GitHub Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru as part of its ai360 initiative. This CoE will serve as a central hub for GitHub-related innovation within Wipro. The initiative aims to accelerate AI-driven development by integrating GitHub tools, including Microsoft M365 and GitHub Copilot, into Wipro's software engineering processes.
The GitHub CoE is focused on equipping Wipro's developers with advanced tools to streamline workflows and increase efficiency in software development. A dedicated team of AI champions will receive in-depth training to ensure high proficiency in using GitHub and its associated tools. By standardizing development practices, Wipro aims to reduce delivery timelines and improve the quality of solutions for clients across industries. This will benefit clients with faster delivery, better collaboration, and stronger solutions.

To bolster community engagement, the CoE will offer workshops, hackathons, codeathons, and meetups. It will also establish a Community of Practice to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration between GitHub Champions and subject matter experts. These AI champions will be appointed at the CoE with training to ensure they’re proficient at GitHub applications. This will enable the organization to foster a sustainable and future-ready talent pool adept at building AI-powered solutions.
