OnePlus 15R Launching December 17: All Key Specs, Including Battery and Chipset, Revealed Ahead of Time

The OnePlus 15R is launching tomorrow, December 17, and key specifications have been revealed ahead of the official announcement. This new device is poised to be a strong contender in the premium smartphone market, offering a blend of power and value.

Design and Display:

The OnePlus 15R is expected to sport a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution. It will feature a 165Hz refresh rate, matching the standard of the OnePlus 15, for smooth scrolling and gaming. The display will have a peak brightness of 1,800 nits and dim down to as low as 2 nits, or even 1 nit with the "Reduce White Point" setting activated. The screen is also certified with TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 5.0.

The phone will be available in Charcoal Black and Mint Green color options, with an Electric Violet "Ace Edition" also expected. The Ace Edition will feature a fiberglass back finish with a special coating that imprints the word "Ace" into the design.

Performance and Chipset:

The OnePlus 15R will be among the first smartphones powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. OnePlus has collaborated with Qualcomm for nearly two years to optimize the platform for speed and power efficiency. The device will also feature a G2 Wi-Fi chip and a touch response chip.

Camera:

The OnePlus 15R will feature a dual rear camera setup, including a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary sensor and an 8MP IMX355 ultrawide sensor. The 15R will support 4K video recording at up to 120fps. It will also feature the DetailMax Engine, introduced with the OnePlus 15. The front camera will be a 32MP sensor with autofocus capabilities and support for 4K video recording.

Battery:

OnePlus has confirmed that the 15R will house a 7,400 mAh battery. The battery is designed to retain at least 80% of its capacity after four years of regular use. The device will support 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging.

Other Features:

The OnePlus 15R will run on Android 16-based OxygenOS 16. It will support Plus Mind, OnePlus's proprietary AI technology.

Pricing and Availability:

The OnePlus 15R is launching in India on December 17 and will be available on Amazon India and the OnePlus official website. The base variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage is expected to be priced between Rs. 45,999 and Rs. 46,999. The higher variant with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage could be priced around Rs. 51,999.
