The OnePlus 15, the latest flagship phone from OnePlus, has finally gone on sale in the US after a delay, but customers who pre-order will have to wait until December for deliveries. The phone was announced in November and launched in most global markets shortly after. However, the US launch was delayed due to a 43-day government shutdown that created a backlog at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The FCC is required to certify wireless devices before they can be sold in the US.
Pre-orders for the OnePlus 15 began on December 4th at 11 a.m. ET. Although the exact shipping date hasn't been announced, it is expected to happen sometime in December.
The OnePlus 15 is available in two configurations: * 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for $899.99 * 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage for $999.99
OnePlus is offering several incentives for customers who pre-order the OnePlus 15:
- A free gift, including a pair of OnePlus Buds Pro 3 headphones, a OnePlus-branded 50W magnetic charger, or a phone case.
- Customers who opt for the larger storage variant can also claim a OnePlus Watch 3 43mm edition.
- A $100 instant credit toward a OnePlus 15 with any phone trade-in.
- Up to 30% off additional accessories when buying a OnePlus 15.
The OnePlus 15 boasts several high-end features:
- It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
- It has a large 7,300mAh battery that, according to OnePlus, allows users to stream, shoot and play without the need to charge.
- It has a 6.78-inch BOE X3 OLED display with a 1-165Hz variable refresh rate. The display can refresh up to 165Hz in gaming mode.
- It operates on OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16.
- It has a triple-camera system with three 50MP lenses. The rear setup includes a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom. It also features a 32MP front camera.
- It has up to 1TB of storage.
- Other features include dual superconducting magnetic linear stereo speakers, an X-axis linear vibration motor, an IR blaster, WiFi 7, NFC, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
The OnePlus 15 is available in three colors: Sand Storm, Infinite Black, and Ultra Violet. The phone replaces the circular camera island from previous models with a sleek, rectangular setup.
OnePlus decided to jump straight to the OnePlus 15 instead of a OnePlus 14 because, in China, the word for "four" sounds similar to the word for "death".
