Redmi is set to launch its latest flagship contender, the K90 Pro Max, in China on October 23, 2025. The device boasts Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and a sound system tuned by Bose.

Performance and Power

The Redmi K90 Pro Max is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Qualcomm's top-end SoC. This chip features two fast Oryon Gen 3 Prime Cores with speeds up to 4.6 GHz and six smaller Oryon Gen 3 Performance Cores with speeds up to 3.62 GHz. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 outperforms the Apple A19 Pro in multi-core tests and nearly matches it in single-core performance. Xiaomi has also included a new D2 "AI independent display chip" to enhance visual performance. To maintain optimal performance, the device incorporates a vapor cooling chamber, reportedly the largest ever used in a Xiaomi smartphone.

The phone features a substantial 7,560mAh battery, supporting 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W reverse wired charging. It is also compatible with 100W PPS chargers.

Audio Prowess

The K90 Pro Max sets itself apart with a 2.1 stereo system tuned by Bose. This includes two super-linear speakers and an extra-large independent woofer. Xiaomi claims this setup delivers rich details, clear vocals, and full bass, with the independent woofer providing deeper low frequencies. The "Sound by Bose" branding is placed next to the rear camera module.

Display and Design

The Redmi K90 Pro Max features a 6.9-inch OLED display with a full RGB sub-pixel layout. The display offers DC dimming across the entire brightness range, a circular polarizer for improved visibility, and a minimum brightness level of 1 nit for comfortable low-light viewing.

The phone's design includes a large rear camera module and a denim-textured back panel option. It will also be available in a "Flowing Gold White" color.

Camera Capabilities

For optics, the Redmi K90 Pro Max utilizes a primary camera with a 1/1.31-inch sensor, the same Light Hunter 950 sensor used on the Xiaomi 17. It also features a 50MP ultrawide camera and Redmi's first periscope telephoto lens, offering 5x optical zoom, 10x "lossless" zoom, and optical image stabilization (OIS). The camera system is engineered to deliver high-quality photos and videos, with a 13.5EV dynamic range and a hybrid glass-plastic lens design to reduce glare.

Other Features

The Redmi K90 Pro Max runs on Android v16 with Xiaomi's HyperOS 3. It supports dual SIM cards, 5G, NFC, and an IR blaster. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Pricing and Availability

The Redmi K90 Pro Max is scheduled to launch in China on October 23. While official pricing hasn't been announced, it is expected to be priced around CNY 4,000 (approximately $550). A global launch is anticipated, possibly under Xiaomi's Poco F series branding.
