Realme is gearing up to launch its latest P4 series in India on August 20th, comprising the Realme P4 Pro 5G and the Realme P4 5G. The launch event is scheduled for 12:00 PM IST, and the smartphones will be available for purchase on Flipkart and Realme's official website. The company is focusing on delivering India-specific enhancements in battery life, display quality, and thermal management. Realme's Head of Product Marketing, Francis Wong, has indicated that both phones will be priced under ₹30,000. Also, the company might not launch a Realme P4 Ultra model.

Realme P4 Pro 5G: Power and Performance

The Realme P4 Pro 5G will be powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and a dedicated HyperVision AI GPU. The phone achieves an AnTuTu benchmark score of over 1.1 million. The HyperVision AI chip, powered by Pixelworks' X7 Gen 2 visual processor, handles specialized visual computations, including graphics rendering, frame rate upscaling, and AI-based resolution enhancement. This dual-chip configuration enables stable 144FPS gameplay in over 100 supported titles, real-time frame generation, and resolution upscaling to 1.5K. Features attributed to the HyperVision AI chip include AI Hyper Clarity, AI Hyper Motion, and AI Always-On HDR. The device also incorporates the GT Performance Engine 3.0 for thermal management and sustained performance. Realme has collaborated with PerfDog to introduce a "Frame Generation Index" that displays real-time data on the performance gains from the Pixelworks hardware.

Realme P4 5G: Accessible Visual Enhancement

The standard Realme P4 5G will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra 5G chipset, coupled with a dedicated Pixelworks chip. This configuration is intended to bring enhanced visual performance, smoother gameplay, and better frame stability to a more accessible price point. The MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra 5G, built on a 4nm process with a 4+4 octa-core architecture, offers up to 25 per cent better power efficiency.

Display and Design

The Realme P4 Pro 5G features a 6.77-inch HypeGlow AMOLED 4D Curve+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and a peak brightness of up to 6,500 nits. The display's eye protection features have been certified by TÜV Rheinland and supports 4,320Hz high-frequency dimming. The Realme P4 5G features a 6.77-inch HyperGlow AMOLED display with Full-HD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness. The screen also supports 3,840Hz of pulse-width modulation (PWM) dimming, hardware-level blue light, and flicker reduction. The P4 Pro uses a tech wood back with visible grain, while the P4 goes industrial with an exposed screw aesthetic.

Battery and Cooling

Both the Realme P4 Pro 5G and Realme P4 5G will house a 7,000mAh Titan battery with support for 80W fast charging. The company claims that the handset will deliver up to 11 hours of Battle Ground Mobile India (BGMI) gameplay. It can charge about 50 percent in 25 minutes and also comes with reverse charging, AI smart charging, and bypass charging support. To maintain thermals, both will feature a 7,000 sq mm AirFlow VC cooling system. The cooling system lowers CPU core temperatures by up to 20°C during intensive use. The Realme P4 Pro 5G is claimed to offer over eight hours of BGMI gameplay at 90FPS.

Other Features and Expectations

Both the Realme P4 Pro and Realme P4 will sport an AI-powered triple rear camera set, although the camera configuration is yet to be disclosed. The Realme P4 Pro will come in blue, grey, and white colorways, while the Realme P4 will sport red, silver, and light blue hues. Realme promises three major Android updates and four years of standard updates for both the Realme P4 Pro and Realme P4.
